Fidèle à sa réputation, le tournoi de street-ball a offert à ses spectateurs, un véritable show, entre matchs intenses, concours de dunk et autres animations Hip Hop, on en a prit pleins les yeux.

Pour les 10 ans du Quai, l'événement est devenu payant, ce qui a changé un peu l'ambiance, et perdu un peu de son esprit street.

Cependant les joueurs de talents étaient au rendez-vous, le niveau du game aussi.Les DJs ont mixé les meilleurs sons Hip Hop et  les jolies filles intéressées ou pas semblaient s'être apprêtées pour un concours de shorty. 

Après deux jours de game sous un soleil d'été, la team la Fusion a remporté son quatrième titre face à l'équipe américaine, King of Hoops déjà finaliste il y a deux ans de cela face à…La Fusion.  

Entre les différents matchs on a pu découvrir des shows de Double-Dutch, de street-dance, de crossers éduqués aux vidéos And1, des concours de danse, un rap clash et une troupe de danse est venu nous donner une mini reproduction du carnaval de Rio ( sans le chart ).Mais les prestations les plus attendues étaient celles de Youssoupha en début d'après midi puis celle de Wiz Khalifa qui à la différence de son homologue français n'est pas arrivé à l'heure.

As we mentioned in another post, the tenth edition of the Quai 54 took place the last weekend on Champ de Mars in Paris.

Faithful to its reputation, the street ball tournament offered spectators a real show which varied between intense matches,  dunk contests  and the other related Hip-hop activities. Our eyes were popping out of their sockets at some of the amazing things we saw.

For the last 10 years the Quai has always been a free event. However this year, for the first time, the event charged admission of 30 Euros. In an economic downturn, such an unexpected change tinted the atmosphere for some people and as a result, lost a little of its street and community-based spirit.

However a wealth of talented players were there who brought their game to match. The DJs played the best Hip-hop songs and the attractive women seemed interested (or maybe not) in a competition of their own; obtaining a "shorty."

After two days of games played under the summer sun, team Fusion walked away with its fourth title beating out the American team, King of Hoops. Funny enough, The Fusion did not play in last year's tournament but did, however, play King of Hoops two years prior and beat them then. This event was considered something of a rematch and it did not disappoint. 

Between the various matches between teams, we were able to watch entertainment shows that included Double-Dutch, street-dance, and "crossers" (ballers who specialize in the crossover moves) imitating killer moves seen in the infamous And1 videos. The entertainment also included dance competitions, a rap battle and a even a mini reproduction of the Rio carnival (without the floats) . But the most anticipated performances were Youssoupha, who came out early in the afternoon, followed by Wiz Khalifa who, unlike his counterpart, did not arrive on time.
